The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cecilio Polo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moisés Queiroga in the 5th minute of play. Cecilio Polo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moisés Queiroga in the 9th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, São Brás FC's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés Queiroga came free, but Cecilio Polo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bacardi Black Bats were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after São Brás FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hermenegildo Rebelo took the corner. The corner led Bacardi Black Bats's Hermenegildo Rebelo to fire away a dangerous shot which Cecilio Polo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 34th minute, Eulalio Puskás got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hermenegildo Rebelo's late challenge caught a São Brás FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hermenegildo Rebelo helped the player get up and apologised. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Moisés Queiroga made the kick off in the second half. Bacardi Black Bats's Artur Brudzisz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervásio Palhares in the 51st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abílio Severiano in the 54th minute of play forced São Brás FC's goalkeeper Cecilio Polo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Bacardi Black Bats's goal looked a bit too open when Piara Turko came free, but Artur Brudzisz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Bacardi Black Bats players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
