An unexpectedly hard shot by Eulalio Puskás in the 13th minute of play forced GD Almargense's goalkeeper Claudemiro Tristão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of São Brás FC booed when GD Almargense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Carvalhal didn't get a good kick on the ball. GD Almargense's Claudemiro Tristão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piara Turko in the 15th minute of play. When GD Almargense's Celso Eiró in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celso Eiró in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cecilio Polo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Claudemiro Tristão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piara Turko, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Zarco Patrício charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zarco Patrício the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dušan Vlahović stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cecilio Polo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Eiró in the 52nd minute of the match. Dušan Vlahović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dušan Vlahović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cecilio Polo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. GD Almargense's Claudemiro Tristão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eulalio Puskás in the 54th minute of play. Piara Turko's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Claudemiro Tristão firmly grabbed it by the left post. Celso Eiró might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cecilio Polo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celso Eiró ran back to his position shaking his head. Cecilio Polo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Eiró in the 60th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Torcato Pacheco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. GD Almargense made a substitution. Alexandre Valadares replaced Dušan Vlahović. In the 70th minute, Carlos Vides left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GD Almargense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Cecilio Polo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Vides went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. GD Almargense's Claudemiro Tristão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save GD Almargense from getting a goal against them. After having played for 84 minutes, Carlos Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GD Almargense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Vides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. São Brás FC made a substitution. Bruno Fernandes replaced Fábio Valadares. Gervásio Palhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 89 minutes of play, GD Almargense's Carlos Vides made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cecilio Polo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlos Vides blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cecilio Polo having to make a save. GD Almargense's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
