The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Miguel Poças showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octávio Portugal in the 4th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Octávio Portugal in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miguel Poças prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 6 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goal looked a bit too open when Octávio Portugal came free, but Miguel Poças reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiburcio Liher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Bomba in the 7th minute of play. Octávio Portugal scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel Poças, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jacinto Moutinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Miguel Poças made a huge save. In the 18th minute, Hong Xi Bin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Bomba might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tiburcio Liher. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Bomba ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Bomba in the 20th minute of play forced Altamora FC's goalkeeper Tiburcio Liher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiburcio Liher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Bomba, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 32nd minute, José Bomba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tiburcio Liher was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Miguel Poças made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octávio Portugal in the 38th minute of play. After 39 played minutes F.C. Paços de Ferreira got a freekick which was hit by José Bomba. When Octávio Portugal came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Altamora FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Octávio Portugal couldn't finish the play. 46 minutes into the match, Altamora FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Bomba came free, but Tiburcio Liher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacinto Moutinho to make the kick off. If José Bomba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tiburcio Liher made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Bomba in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Altamora FC's Tiburcio Liher got control of the ball when José Bomba tried to sneak it across the goal line. Octávio Portugal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Poças having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, Altamora FC's Octávio Portugal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Poças narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolf Pocobello hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Igor Tudor fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 65th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Bóas Pernas was substituted for Saúl Zambujal. After a rather tough play, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Nicolae Hoisie got a free kick in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the match, Altamora FC's Octávio Portugal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Poças narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 84thth minute of the game José Bomba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Altamora FC's Tiburcio Liher was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 85th minute of the match F.C. Paços de Ferreira got a corner. Altamora FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Igor Tudor ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on F.C. Paços de Ferreira's corner Igor Tudor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tiburcio Liher quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Bomba got free with Tiburcio Liher in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 89 minutes into the match, José Bomba dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tiburcio Liher, 1-3. In the 93rd minute, José Bomba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
