After a rather tough play, Internacional de Lisboa's Donatien Bidart got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 6 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when Donatien Bidart came free, but Antonio Adán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Braga's Antonio Adán played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Hendrik Saarberg in the 8th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, SC Braga's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Hendrik Saarberg came free, but Antonio Adán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Adán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Hendrik Saarberg in the 15th minute of play. In the 15th minute Jan Hendrik Saarberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Adán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Internacional de Lisboa's goalkeeper Vladimiro Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Zigmantas Gimbutas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vladimiro Leão. That made the score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Internacional de Lisboa's goal looked a bit too open when Quintino Carvalhais came free, but Vladimiro Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Braga's Antonio Adán played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 方亮宁 in the 27th minute of play. Antonio Adán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zigmantas Gimbutas got free with Vladimiro Leão in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 44th minute, Artur Lage hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Zigmantas Gimbutas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Braga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jan Hendrik Saarberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Vladimiro Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56thth minute of the game Zigmantas Gimbutas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Internacional de Lisboa's Vladimiro Leão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Almiro Seabra kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Vladimiro Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zigmantas Gimbutas in the 61st minute of play. After some careless play in the Internacional de Lisboa defense, Zigmantas Gimbutas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vladimiro Leão. The Internacional de Lisboa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vladimiro Leão should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Donatien Bidart took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Antonio Adán to make any attempt to save it. Internacional de Lisboa's Abel Alves was substituted for António Pimentel. After 72 minutes, Stig-Åke Mattsson made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Internacional de Lisboa's Vladimiro Leão tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Internacional de Lisboa's zone, Stig-Åke Mattsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimiro Leão came out of the goal and Stig-Åke Mattsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antonio Adán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Hendrik Saarberg in the 78th minute of play. With his leg Antonio Adán managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Internacional de Lisboa's Jan Hendrik Saarberg fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Stig-Åke Mattsson struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Vladimiro Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Braga. Vladimiro Leão came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by SC Braga's Stig-Åke Mattsson. But to his dismay, Stig-Åke Mattsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Artur Lage made in the 95th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by 方亮宁. When the referee blew the final whistle, SC Braga could leave the field as winners, despite Internacional de Lisboa having more of the ball for most of the match.
