A very good chance. 10 minutes into the match, Petersfield City's Ezekiel Okorodudu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Warman Adubasim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 14 played minutes Petersfield City got a freekick which was hit by Erhabor Nwaiwu. Chijioke Lere hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th match minute, Grimsby City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amaechi Gbenoba to maneuver through the defense. Warman Adubasim came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Petersfield City's Erhabor Nwaiwu. But to his dismay, Erhabor Nwaiwu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 39 minutes into the match, Grimsby City's goal looked a bit too open when Erhabor Nwaiwu came free, but Warman Adubasim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ezekiel Okorodudu in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Warman Adubasim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nwokezuike Ajogi was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Umar Anbalaga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Umar Anbalaga really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Umar Anbalaga made the kick off in the second half. When Erhabor Nwaiwu came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Petersfield City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erhabor Nwaiwu couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes into the match, Petersfield City's goal looked a bit too open when Umar Anbalaga came free, but Nwokezuike Ajogi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Warman Adubasim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezekiel Okorodudu, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Ezekiel Okorodudu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erhabor Nwaiwu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warman Adubasim having to interfere. Warman Adubasim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezekiel Okorodudu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ezekiel Okorodudu was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 69th minute. Petersfield City's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 70th match minute, Grimsby City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lokon Okpongete to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Grimsby City's goalkeeper Warman Adubasim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 83rdth minute of the game Ezekiel Okorodudu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grimsby City's Warman Adubasim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Erhabor Nwaiwu in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Warman Adubasim saved Grimsby City from getting behind. John Dauda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Warman Adubasim having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Lokon Okpongete was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grimsby City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Petersfield City the free kick. After 89 played minutes Grimsby City got a freekick which was hit by Lokon Okpongete. Nwebube Otubusen hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Ezekiel Okorodudu in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Warman Adubasim, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 98 minutes, Ezekiel Okorodudu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Petersfield City and the Grimsby City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Petersfield City's Ezekiel Okorodudu got a free kick in the 98th minute. When the match was over Petersfield City could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Grimsby City throughout the match.
