The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Okelola Oliseh scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nkemdilim Acholonu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Beckford's Steve Moneke got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, Keyworth's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Moneke came free, but Nkemdilim Acholonu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Beckford booed when Keyworth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ben Edidiong Evwierhurhoma didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eluemuno Gauyama in the 23rd minute of play forced Beckford's goalkeeper Leonard Onyekweli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eluemuno Gauyama fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonard Onyekweli having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Steve Moneke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Steve Moneke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Beckford's Leonard Onyekweli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Beckford from getting a goal against them. Keyworth's Nkemdilim Acholonu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ikpe Okwuono in the 76th minute of play. After 78 minutes, Efe Isu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Keyworth and the Beckford players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th match minute, Keyworth was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efe Isu to maneuver through the defense. David Eyiboh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Leonard Onyekweli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
