Greg Okatahi charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Greg Okatahi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Middleton on the Wold United's Greg Okatahi got a free kick in the 21st minute. Muyiwa Abubakar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulinus Amagu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Gorton's goalkeeper Onwubiko Ademakinwa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Efan Oguntominiyi. Hassan Okigbo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Ete Charlie Adaji fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Onwubiko Ademakinwa having to interfere. Ete Charlie Adaji received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Onwubiko Ademakinwa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Ete Charlie Adaji got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Finidi Okunowo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Middleton on the Wold United's Muyiwa Abubakar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulinus Amagu in the 44th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Paulinus Amagu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gorton's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulinus Amagu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Muyiwa Abubakar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 54th minute, Zinachidi Udoh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Muyiwa Abubakar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Ete Charlie Adaji received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Onwubiko Ademakinwa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Efan Oguntominiyi struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Onwubiko Ademakinwa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Middleton on the Wold United. The crowd rose to their feet as Paulinus Amagu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Muyiwa Abubakar. That made the score 1-3 in the 66 minute of play. Chukwuma Jibo hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. It was joyful for the audience to see Soyemi Okpongete dribbling past the opponents defense line in the 74th played minute and put the ball into the net. 1-4. Onwubiko Ademakinwa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Efan Oguntominiyi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Paulinus Amagu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gorton's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulinus Amagu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Muyiwa Abubakar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulinus Amagu in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Muyiwa Abubakar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Onwubiko Ademakinwa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ete Charlie Adaji , who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The Middleton on the Wold United supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Gorton's performance. The match ended with a win for Gorton.
