The score was now 1-0. Osun United's Nwakaego Babangida got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Braintree AFC's zone, Chiagoziem Odita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kabir Alozie came out of the goal and Chiagoziem Odita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enang Ibirogba during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th match minute, Braintree AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enang Ibirogba to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Braintree AFC's goalkeeper Kabir Alozie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nwakaego Babangida. Kabir Alozie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Obafemi Abiodun in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Braintree AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Muhammed Kamuche hit a great ball. Victor Obinna Uchara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kabir Alozie having to interfere. Obafemi Abiodun's late challenge caught a Braintree AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Obafemi Abiodun helped the player get up and apologised. 33 minutes into the game, one of Osun United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Chimaraoke Ewuga walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 40 minutes into the match, Braintree AFC's goalkeeper Kabir Alozie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victor Obinna Uchara. Chibuzor Diya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kabir Alozie having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nwakaego Babangida stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Otito Ayongo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braintree AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otito Ayongo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Osinachi Agege fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kabir Alozie having to interfere. Braintree AFC's Kabir Alozie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chibuzor Diya in the 55th minute of play. If Victor Obinna Uchara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nwakaego Babangida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The throw-in from Muhammed Kamuche in the 68th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Osun United's Osinachi Agege. During the 68th minute of the match Chibuzor Diya completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Chibuzor Diya a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Chibuzor Diya kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. A collision led to Braintree AFC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Dilibe Emokpae hit a great ball. In the 73rd match minute, Braintree AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kosi Okala to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Braintree AFC's zone, Victor Obinna Uchara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kabir Alozie came out of the goal and Victor Obinna Uchara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osun United's Bankole Umeana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Osun United from getting a goal against them. Otito Ayongo charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Otito Ayongo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Otito Ayongo hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. If Victor Obinna Uchara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Braintree AFC's zone, Osinachi Agege stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kabir Alozie came out of the goal and Osinachi Agege tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kabir Alozie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Obinna Uchara in the 86th minute of the match. If Victor Obinna Uchara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otito Ayongo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bankole Umeana came out and tried to block the shot, but Otito Ayongo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 93rd minute. Osun United were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Braintree AFC to leave the ground with a draw.
