An unexpectedly hard shot by Otito Ayongo in the 15th minute of play forced Wembley's goalkeeper Olejuru Ojo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kabir Alozie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurzform Adediwura in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute Austine Bobolayefa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kabir Alozie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Braintree AFC's Otito Ayongo got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Wembley's Garba Ademowo got a free kick in the 35th minute. Braintree AFC's Gbenga Okoroanyanwu got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otito Ayongo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olejuru Ojo having to interfere. Otito Ayongo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Austine Bobolayefa made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Gbenga Okoroanyanwu notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Wembley's Olejuru Ojo. The tension between the Braintree AFC and the Wembley players grew even worse after the yellow card.
