Ifaluyi Okoro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Kabir Alozie made a huge save. If Olushola Tiamiyu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Otito Ayongo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Uzoma Obiyo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Akande Jibero during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Braintree AFC! When the match had been going on for 21 minutes, Bude's Donald Johnson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Kabir Alozie. Uzoma Obiyo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kosi Okala, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Kosi Okala scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Uzoma Obiyo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ifaluyi Okoro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Braintree AFC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Enang Ibirogba hit a great ball. Akande Jibero hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute of the match Donald Johnson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kabir Alozie skillfully saved the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

A collision led to Bude getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Udochukwu Nafada hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Ifaluyi Okoro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olushola Tiamiyu in the 63rd minute of play forced Braintree AFC's goalkeeper Kabir Alozie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute Olushola Tiamiyu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kabir Alozie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
