Onyekachi Olabanjo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edon Adekwu , who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Onodugo Anuforo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mudashiru Eyoma in the 7th minute. In the 12thth minute of the game Ijeli Adebayo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stocksbridge FC's Onodugo Anuforo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Omonigho Aga fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hazel Grove's protests and gave Omonigho Aga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th minute, Omonigho Aga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Onyekachi Olabanjo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ime Sunday Akparanta's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Hazel Grove's Onyekachi Olabanjo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ime Sunday Akparanta in the 17th minute of play. If Ijeli Adebayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Onodugo Anuforo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 22nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Hazel Grove's zone, Ime Sunday Akparanta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Onyekachi Olabanjo came out of the goal and Ime Sunday Akparanta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edon Adekwu 's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Onyekachi Olabanjo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Omonigho Aga was shown his second yellow card after 32 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Hazel Grove's Omonigho Aga got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Ime Sunday Akparanta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Onyekachi Olabanjo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After having played for 54 minutes, Ime Sunday Akparanta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stocksbridge FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ime Sunday Akparanta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edon Adekwu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ijeli Adebayo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 66 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Stocksbridge FC's Ime Sunday Akparanta fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. A collision led to Hazel Grove getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Mudashiru Eyoma hit a great ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Mudashiru Eyoma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hazel Grove's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mudashiru Eyoma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mudashiru Eyoma's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Onodugo Anuforo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Mudashiru Eyoma ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Onodugo Anuforo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Edon Adekwu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Onyekachi Olabanjo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ime Sunday Akparanta in the 82nd minute of the match. Stocksbridge FC's Edon Adekwu got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute Mudashiru Eyoma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Onodugo Anuforo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bimbo Egberibin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Onodugo Anuforo having to interfere. Onodugo Anuforo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mudashiru Eyoma in the 91st minute of play. Mudashiru Eyoma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Stocksbridge FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hazel Grove.
