Ime Sunday Gwarbarah's late challenge caught a Deal FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ime Sunday Gwarbarah helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Ime Sunday Gwarbarah hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kosisochukwu Oludimu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Toby Obiabo having to make a save. Kosisochukwu Oludimu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute Tayo Kolawole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toby Obiabo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Akamadu Fashiro notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Newmarket City's Toby Obiabo. Toby Obiabo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 24th match minute, Newmarket City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dayo Ogelema to maneuver through the defense. If Kosisochukwu Oludimu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 33rd match minute, Deal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tayo Kolawole to maneuver through the defense. Akamadu Fashiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Newmarket City's zone, Akamadu Fashiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toby Obiabo came out of the goal and Akamadu Fashiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Deal FC booed when Newmarket City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ossy Usikalu didn't get a good kick on the ball.

A collision led to Deal FC getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Tayo Kolawole hit a great ball. With a little luck, Newmarket City's Toby Obiabo got control of the ball when Kosisochukwu Oludimu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, Gambo Issah notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Deal FC's Lawrence Edereho. Lawrence Edereho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaiya Affe, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The supporters of Newmarket City booed when Deal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tayo Kolawole didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kosisochukwu Oludimu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 87th minute of the match, Akamadu Fashiro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Toby Obiabo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 89 minutes, Akamadu Fashiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Akamadu Fashiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gambo Issah might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lawrence Edereho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gambo Issah ran back to his position shaking his head. Gaiya Affe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, Newmarket City could leave the field as winners, despite Deal FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
