The supporters of Brampton United booed when Hayling Island was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jolaoya Alerechi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Omeokachie Ayorinde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hayling Island's supporters rose to their feet, but Omeokachie Ayorinde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esomchi Abimbola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute, Tope Akerele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hayling Island's Bright Gbadehan couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 15th minute. Okwudiliolisa Ahula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esomchi Abimbola having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Onyinye adegbenjo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Iwobi Nwilene. Onyinye adegbenjo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Okwudiliolisa Ahula sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iwobi Nwilene made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marafa John Obi in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After 50 minutes, Tasiu Udem mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hayling Island and the Brampton United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hayling Island's Tasiu Udem got a free kick in the 50th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Onyinye adegbenjo in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iwobi Nwilene saved Hayling Island from getting behind. Brampton United's Esomchi Abimbola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Brampton United from getting a goal against them. Okwudiliolisa Ahula's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Esomchi Abimbola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brampton United's goalkeeper Esomchi Abimbola, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Kaodilinakachukwu Atuegbu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
