The referee showed Ojore Gbenoba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ojore Gbenoba kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Nwakego Ginikanwa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 6th minute. Finchley's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Benson Obahiagbons short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Bukar Eikhali to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Chelsea FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Chiedozie Adejube hit a great ball. Essien Gulma stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chigo Abisogun's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Benson Obahiagbon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bukar Eikhali read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Benson Obahiagbon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Bukar Eikhali tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 18 played minutes Chelsea FC got a freekick which was hit by Sadiq Osanyintuyi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nwakego Ginikanwa in the 19th minute of play forced Chelsea FC's goalkeeper Bukar Eikhali to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Finchley's Nwakego Ginikanwa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bukar Eikhali narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bukar Eikhali stood somewhat misplaced when Nwakego Ginikanwa came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 31 minute. 37 minutes into the game, Finchley's Benson Obahiagbon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bukar Eikhali made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Bukar Eikhali made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benson Obahiagbon in the 43rd minute. With an all-out effort, Finchley's Bukar Eikhali threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nwakego Ginikanwa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Udegbulam Adeshina was the one to do the kick off. If Benson Obahiagbon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sadiq Osanyintuyi kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benson Obahiagbon in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bukar Eikhali prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Nwakego Ginikanwa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Finchley's supporters rose to their feet, but Nwakego Ginikanwa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bukar Eikhali breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Chelsea FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ojore Gbenoba hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Benson Obahiagbon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bukar Eikhali came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Finchley's Nwakego Ginikanwa. But to his dismay, Nwakego Ginikanwa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 82 minutes, Osondu Adanlawo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chelsea FC and the Finchley players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 84th minute Finchley were awarded a corner. Ohen Ofere went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Finchley's Ohen Ofere to fire away a dangerous shot which Bukar Eikhali despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Chelsea FC's Bukar Eikhali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benson Obahiagbon in the 97th minute of play. Finchley's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
