After a rather tough play, Rawmarsh's Taye Oliseh got a free kick in the 14th minute. The Rawmarsh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gozie Obikwelu should have stopped the shot. The Harrogate fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Harrogate's Kent Nkut looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Josep Abiche might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nnamdi Akeredolu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Izuchukwu Dooyum kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 28 minutes in the game, Oyeyiola Olutola fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nnamdi Akeredolu having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Kent Nkut had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gozie Obikwelu. Rawmarsh's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kent Nkut was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 43rd minute, Oyeyiola Olutola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Izuchukwu Dooyum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nnamdi Akeredolu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oyeyiola Olutola in the 45th minute of the match. When Onyeka Nakudu came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Harrogate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Onyeka Nakudu couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Rawmarsh getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Taye Oliseh hit a great ball. The Rawmarsh players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oyeyiola Olutola to strike the kick off in the second half. Chuma Wambai hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the match, Harrogate's goal looked a bit too open when Josep Abiche came free, but Nnamdi Akeredolu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gozie Obikwelu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kent Nkut in the 61st minute of play.
