After a rather tough play, Rockers United's Ahijah Efangwu got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Osar Ayara blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Badamasi Ejide having to make a save. In the 13th minute of the match Jerimon Enitilo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Badamasi Ejide skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Halton Holegate AFC's zone, Tobenna Onigbanjo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adegun Elejiko came out of the goal and Tobenna Onigbanjo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olisanugo Achilike recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Osar Ayara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osar Ayara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Badamasi Ejide made a huge save. 42 minutes into the game, Seyi Owoeri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Halton Holegate AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rockers United the free kick. In the 42nd minute, Seyi Owoeri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Halton Holegate AFC's Adegun Elejiko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babajide Odoko in the 44th minute of play. Halton Holegate AFC's Minabo Jamfalan shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 46th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Badamasi Ejide but with some difficulty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olisanugo Achilike to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Osar Ayara made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rockers United's Badamasi Ejide tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Olisanugo Achilike had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Rockers United's Nike Aboyade got a free kick in the 58th minute. When Olisanugo Achilike came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Halton Holegate AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olisanugo Achilike couldn't finish the play. Badamasi Ejide didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Olisanugo Achilike went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Rockers United defense, Olisanugo Achilike kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Badamasi Ejide. The Rockers United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Badamasi Ejide should have stopped the shot. Adegun Elejiko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tobenna Onigbanjo in the 70th minute of play. Adegun Elejiko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Babajide Odoko in the 72nd minute. Babajide Odoko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Tobenna Onigbanjo made a precise shot to the right of Adegun Elejiko. Halton Holegate AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Adegun Elejiko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ajayi Dunmade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the game, Tobenna Onigbanjo lined in a short shot 3-2 behind a frustrated Adegun Elejiko. After 94 minutes of play Rockers United's Ajayi Dunmade was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Rockers United's Ajayi Dunmade got a free kick in the 94th minute.
