Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sawbridgeworth AFC's Mbadiwe Okonkwo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mbadiwe Okonkwo in the 4th minute of play forced Mullen's goalkeeper Lokon Gwalabe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mbadiwe Okonkwo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Lokon Gwalabe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mullen's Lokon Gwalabe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mbadiwe Okonkwo in the 8th minute of play. Sawbridgeworth AFC's Sampson Oyeoku got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Chudi Owotoki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lokon Gwalabe made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Sampson Oyeoku sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Sawbridgeworth AFC booed when Mullen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bassey Otubusen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lokon Gwalabe made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Sampson Oyeoku sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sampson Oyeoku got free with Lokon Gwalabe in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 17th minute Mbadiwe Okonkwo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lokon Gwalabe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Mbadiwe Okonkwo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sawbridgeworth AFC's Sampson Oyeoku got a free kick in the 27th minute. Haruna Adedina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ete Charlie Affe having to interfere. A collision led to Sawbridgeworth AFC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Clement Ekata hit a great ball. In the 35th match minute, Sawbridgeworth AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clement Ekata to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Mullen's Adolphus Ishitile broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Mbadiwe Okonkwo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mbadiwe Okonkwo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Lokon Gwalabe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Sawbridgeworth AFC's Sampson Oyeoku sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lokon Gwalabe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Lokon Gwalabe successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Haruna Adedina made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sampson Oyeoku in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lokon Gwalabe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lokon Gwalabe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mbadiwe Okonkwo in the 58th minute of the match. A hard shot 60 in the game by Chimaraoke Etim from a close distance when the talented Ete Charlie Affe managed to make a qualified save. Sawbridgeworth AFC's players were relieved. Sawbridgeworth AFC's Ete Charlie Affe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Sawbridgeworth AFC from getting a goal against them. Mullen's Lokon Gwalabe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sampson Oyeoku in the 65th minute of play. Lokon Gwalabe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mbadiwe Okonkwo in the 72nd minute of play. Chudi Owotoki hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Sampson Oyeoku struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Lokon Gwalabe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sawbridgeworth AFC. Haruna Adedina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Ete Charlie Affe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sampson Oyeoku fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lokon Gwalabe having to interfere. Lokon Gwalabe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mbadiwe Okonkwo in the 91st minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sawbridgeworth AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mullen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
