Spectators: 5006 (Terracing: 4002, Seating: 1002, VIP seats: 2) Huddersfield City's Bekololari Dauda started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bekololari Dauda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ahijah Tukura's late challenge caught a Gold's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahijah Tukura helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th minute, Ahijah Tukura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enemuo Okobi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kelvin Omanukwue having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Huddersfield City's Samson Agbokhode got a free kick in the 12th minute. Gabriel Odigie was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 13th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Samson Agbokhode kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute of the match, Obiora Akinyugha got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kelvin Omanukwue was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a rather tough play, Huddersfield City's Bekololari Dauda got a free kick in the 21st minute. Kelvin Omanukwue made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enemuo Okobi in the 23rd minute of play. Bekololari Dauda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jibrin Nnamoko having to interfere. In the 29th minute Bekololari Dauda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jibrin Nnamoko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 52 minutes, Obiora Akinyugha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gold's supporters crossed their fingers, but Obiora Akinyugha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nike Adegoroye sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jibrin Nnamoko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bekololari Dauda, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Nike Adegoroye recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Huddersfield City's Jibrin Nnamoko threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bekololari Dauda, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nike Adegoroye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jibrin Nnamoko having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bekololari Dauda in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jibrin Nnamoko saved Gold from getting behind. Enemuo Okobi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kelvin Omanukwue having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Bekololari Dauda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nike Adegoroye received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Jibrin Nnamoko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Bekololari Dauda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huddersfield City's supporters rose to their feet, but Bekololari Dauda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jibrin Nnamoko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Gold's zone, Nike Adegoroye stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jibrin Nnamoko came out of the goal and Nike Adegoroye tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gideon Dibiezue's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jibrin Nnamoko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. If Nike Adegoroye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gold's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Bekololari Dauda scored to the left of an out of position Jibrin Nnamoko, making the score, 1-1. Bekololari Dauda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nike Adegoroye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jibrin Nnamoko having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Huddersfield City players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
