Kelvin Omanukwue made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Okwukwe Obadiah in the 33rd minute of play. Bekololari Dauda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Istifanus Orjinta fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Morecambe's protests and gave Istifanus Orjinta a yellow card for diving instead. Nike Adegoroye sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Nike Adegoroye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Nike Adegoroye came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Huddersfield City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nike Adegoroye couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Okwukwe Obadiah made the kick off in the second half. Nike Adegoroye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nebeuwa Onwuzuruike having to interfere. In the 56th minute Bekololari Dauda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nebeuwa Onwuzuruike saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chikwendu Aiyetan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kelvin Omanukwue having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Huddersfield City's zone, Okwukwe Obadiah stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kelvin Omanukwue came out of the goal and Okwukwe Obadiah tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kodilinyechukwu Amagu got his second yellow card in the match during the 65th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 66th minute, Kodilinyechukwu Amagu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute, Oluwole Alachi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Morecambe's Nebeuwa Onwuzuruike didn't even have to move. When Gideon Dibiezue came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Huddersfield City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gideon Dibiezue couldn't finish the play. Istifanus Orjinta hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Nike Adegoroye managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huddersfield City's supporters rose to their feet, but Nike Adegoroye was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nebeuwa Onwuzuruike breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nebeuwa Onwuzuruike stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bekololari Dauda's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. If Chikwendu Aiyetan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bekololari Dauda in the 90th minute of play forced Morecambe's goalkeeper Nebeuwa Onwuzuruike to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th match minute, Morecambe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hakeem Omolafe to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
