After having played for 34 minutes, Obiora Akinyugha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gold's supporters crossed their fingers, but Obiora Akinyugha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Tolulope Peter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jibrin Nnamoko. Gold's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tolulope Peter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Jibrin Nnamoko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tolulope Peter in the 45th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enemuo Okobi to make the kick off. Tolulope Peter's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 63rdth minute, Jibrin Nnamoko skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Obiora Akinyugha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jibril Anzigah having to interfere. Gold's Jibrin Nnamoko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ike Abiakam in the 86th minute of play.
