Bankole Moses showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hakeem Omolafe, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Chikwendu Aiyetan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morecambe's supporters rose to their feet, but Chikwendu Aiyetan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bankole Moses breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Yate FC booed when Morecambe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nebeuwa Onwuzuruike took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chukwufumnanya Oliseh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the game, Chinonyelum Iwuanyanwu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yate FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Morecambe the free kick. After a rather tough play, Yate FC's Chinonyelum Iwuanyanwu got a free kick in the 26th minute. Yate FC's Bankole Moses played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chikwendu Aiyetan in the 29th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Chukwufumnanya Oliseh managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 45th minute, Chukwufumnanya Oliseh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chukwufumnanya Oliseh was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Okwukwe Obadiah in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bankole Moses saved Yate FC from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chikwendu Aiyetan got free with Bankole Moses in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59thth minute of the game Okwukwe Obadiah who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yate FC's Bankole Moses was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 62 minutes, Bo Bello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yate FC and the Morecambe players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Morecambe booed when Yate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Bello didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Chukwufumnanya Oliseh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bankole Moses stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Okwukwe Obadiah's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Yate FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
