Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, RIVERS UNITED's goalkeeper Dike Balogun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adamu Tartor. Madukaego Madumere's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ogo Onyeguocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. RIVERS UNITED's Dike Balogun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save RIVERS UNITED from getting a goal against them. Ogo Onyeguocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Madukaego Madumere's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute, Adamu Tartor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dike Balogun was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. RIVERS UNITED's Madukaego Madumere got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ogo Onyeguocha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun ran back to his position shaking his head. Udoka Tutuola received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dike Balogun came out and tried to block the shot, but Udoka Tutuola slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Ikem Omogo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ogo Onyeguocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Madukaego Madumere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ogo Onyeguocha having to interfere. Marafa Nwagu's late challenge caught a Teignmouth's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marafa Nwagu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Teignmouth booed when RIVERS UNITED was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marafa Nwagu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When RIVERS UNITED's Madukaego Madumere in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Teignmouth's goalie prevented a goal. In the 37th minute, Jacob Nalaya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacob Nalaya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ogo Onyeguocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teignmouth's Chiekwugo Ayila was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 40th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun managed to get in a good position for a shot. RIVERS UNITED's supporters rose to their feet, but Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ogo Onyeguocha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, RIVERS UNITED's Dike Balogun got control of the ball when Udoka Tutuola tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Udoka Tutuola made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Udoka Tutuola cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Dike Balogun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adamu Tartor took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dike Balogun. Dike Balogun dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. With a little luck, Teignmouth's Ogo Onyeguocha got control of the ball when Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ikem Omogo charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ikem Omogo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ogo Onyeguocha made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Madukaego Madumere sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to RIVERS UNITED getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Ikem Omogo hit a great ball. Ogo Onyeguocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Madukaego Madumere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacob Nalaya hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the match, RIVERS UNITED's goal looked a bit too open when Adamu Tartor came free, but Dike Balogun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiekwugo Ayila in the 83rd minute of play forced RIVERS UNITED's goalkeeper Dike Balogun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes RIVERS UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Nalaya. After having played for 85 minutes, Udoka Tutuola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teignmouth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Udoka Tutuola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Ogo Onyeguocha successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Udoka Tutuola in the 89th minute of play forced RIVERS UNITED's goalkeeper Dike Balogun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RIVERS UNITED's Ikem Omogo got his second yellow card of the match in the 90th minute. The referee ordered Ikem Omogo off the ground. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of RIVERS UNITED:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Teignmouth:s goal. In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for Teignmouth. Danny Okwuono stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Dike Balogun. 8-0. If Kene Ihebulu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Udoka Tutuola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the RIVERS UNITED players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Teignmouth.
