The long shot by Osita Onyemaechi in the 8th minute really tested Ndubuisi Dogara's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ajuluchukwu Jakada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ndubuisi Dogara having to interfere. A collision led to FC Pirate getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Madukwe Wahab hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Bina Akintemi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bromyard's supporters rose to their feet, but Bina Akintemi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ndubuisi Dogara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ajuluchukwu Jakada struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Feyisayo Tunde could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Ndubuisi Dogara made a huge save. 37 minutes into the match, FC Pirate's goalkeeper Ndubuisi Dogara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bina Akintemi. Tolu Yabani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Ibekwe Asokuh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Pirate's goalkeeper Ndubuisi Dogara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bina Akintemi to make the kick off. Ajuluchukwu Jakada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ndubuisi Dogara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bina Akintemi, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Bromyard's Ibekwe Asokuh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tolu Yabani in the 72nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Bromyard defense, Eberechukwu Adekoje kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ibekwe Asokuh. The Bromyard fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ibekwe Asokuh should have stopped the shot. When Bromyard's Bina Akintemi in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Pirate's goalie prevented a goal. Feyisayo Tunde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ndubuisi Dogara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Pirate were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Bromyard's much stronger midfield.
