An unexpectedly hard shot by Bamidele Monday Edozien in the 12th minute of play forced Bromyard's goalkeeper Ibekwe Asokuh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute, Obafemi Udenkwor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The RIVERS UNITED fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Ibekwe Asokuh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Madukaego Madumere in the 23rd minute of play. Ibekwe Asokuh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIVERS UNITED. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ajuluchukwu Jakada to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 64th minute, RIVERS UNITED's Madukaego Madumere ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ibekwe Asokuh. Ibekwe Asokuh yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. Ibekwe Asokuh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Madukaego Madumere in the 68th minute of play. Ibekwe Asokuh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ezekiel Okala in the 70th minute. Dike Balogun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feyisayo Tunde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ajuluchukwu Jakada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ibekwe Asokuh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bamidele Monday Edozien, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After some careless play in the Bromyard defense, Madukaego Madumere kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ibekwe Asokuh. The Bromyard fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ibekwe Asokuh should have stopped the shot. Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ibekwe Asokuh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacob Nalaya in the 86th minute of the match. In the 87th minute Bamidele Monday Edozien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ibekwe Asokuh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Bromyard fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. RIVERS UNITED were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
