Ndubuisi Dogara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toby Adelabu's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. In the 16th match minute, FC Pirate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kabiru Oyinlola to maneuver through the defense. Bina Nwagwu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Bina Nwagwu could shoot a difficult shot in the 20th minute, which Ndubuisi Dogara however easily saved by the left post. The audience was convinced that Tolu Yabani's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but James Adeleru was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, James Adeleru successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 73 minutes, Toby Adelabu made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Pirate's Ndubuisi Dogara tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
