When Teignmouth's Udoka Tutuola in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lagos FC's goalie prevented a goal. Udoka Tutuola might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Deyour Oyai. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Udoka Tutuola ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Lagos FC defense, Udoka Tutuola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Deyour Oyai. The Lagos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Deyour Oyai should have stopped the shot. When Adamu Tartor came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Teignmouth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adamu Tartor couldn't finish the play. If Udoka Tutuola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Lagos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kene Ihebulu came free, but Deyour Oyai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32ndth minute of the game Udoka Tutuola who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lagos FC's Deyour Oyai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th minute, Adamu Tartor made a precise shot to the right of Deyour Oyai. Lagos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adamu Tartor in the 41st minute of play forced Lagos FC's goalkeeper Deyour Oyai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Udoka Tutuola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute Adamu Tartor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deyour Oyai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deyour Oyai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Udoka Tutuola in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Lagos FC's Oluwatosin Johnson Famewo got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Udoka Tutuola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Deyour Oyai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adamu Tartor in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Deyour Oyai, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Nnachetam Kato fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lagos FC's protests and gave Nnachetam Kato a yellow card for diving instead. Nnachetam Kato kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. When Adamu Tartor came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Teignmouth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adamu Tartor couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Adamu Tartor put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Deyour Oyai. Adamu Tartor succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 87th playminute. In the 92nd minute, one of Teignmouth:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Teignmouth. The referee gave Lagos FC a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Omolola Babangida, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Teignmouth's Ogo Onyeguocha. 1-6. When the match was over Teignmouth could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lagos FC throughout the match.
