Dafe Onikoro made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Sunday Odumegwu sent off a good shot on target. Kodili Dada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dafe Onikoro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloka Ambaka in the 32nd minute of play forced Hilperton City's goalkeeper Enoch Alhasssan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Hilperton City defense, Eloka Ambaka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enoch Alhasssan. The Hilperton City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enoch Alhasssan should have stopped the shot. Enoch Alhasssan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eloka Ambaka, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Dafe Onikoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kodili Dada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sunday Odumegwu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dafe Onikoro having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Dafe Onikoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kodili Dada in the 56th minute of play. Dafe Onikoro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kodili Dada's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. The audience was convinced that Sunday Odumegwu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dafe Onikoro was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 86th minute Sunday Odumegwu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dafe Onikoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thompson Omolafe got free with Enoch Alhasssan in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
