Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Seascale's Eloka Ambaka started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5thth minute of the game Eloka Ambaka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but RIVERS UNITED's Dike Balogun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dafe Onikoro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacob Nalaya went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 17 minutes into the match, Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dafe Onikoro. Seascale's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Dafe Onikoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Madukaego Madumere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eloka Ambaka in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dike Balogun saved RIVERS UNITED from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Thompson Omolafe put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Dike Balogun. When RIVERS UNITED's Madukaego Madumere in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Madukaego Madumere to strike the kick off in the second half. When Madukaego Madumere came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the RIVERS UNITED fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Madukaego Madumere couldn't finish the play. Ikem Omogo's late challenge caught a Seascale's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ikem Omogo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th minute, Ikem Omogo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun got free with Dafe Onikoro in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Madukaego Madumere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eloka Ambaka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 played minutes Seascale got a freekick which was hit by Suleiman Adaramola. A collision led to RIVERS UNITED getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Madukaego Madumere hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute Eloka Ambaka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dike Balogun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 73 played minutes RIVERS UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Marafa Nwagu. Eloka Ambaka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dike Balogun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Dike Balogun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thompson Omolafe went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 84 minutes into the game, Thompson Omolafe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Dike Balogun was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ajayi Olumuyiwa Aganun struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Dafe Onikoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIVERS UNITED. After having played for 91 minutes, Madukaego Madumere managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RIVERS UNITED's supporters crossed their fingers, but Madukaego Madumere was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Madukaego Madumere struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Dafe Onikoro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIVERS UNITED. RIVERS UNITED's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Seascale had won, even though RIVERS UNITED had held more of the ball.
