In the 3rdth minute of the game Shola Achebo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but THE ELECTRONS's Onwughara Omanukwue was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Shola Achebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Onwughara Omanukwue tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Derby AFC's goalkeeper Manga Lartey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nweke Ademodi. In the 13th minute of the match THE ELECTRONS got a corner. Derby AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Opah Adobu ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on THE ELECTRONS's corner Opah Adobu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Manga Lartey quite easily take care of the ball. Onwughara Omanukwue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mezie Roro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shola Achebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Onwughara Omanukwue read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Mezie Roro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derby AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mezie Roro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Onwughara Omanukwue breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Onwughara Omanukwue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mezie Roro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Derby AFC booed when THE ELECTRONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Onyeoruru Amupitan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Derby AFC's Mezie Roro got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. THE ELECTRONS's Onwughara Omanukwue played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shola Achebo in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match Dahiru Khumbotso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Onwughara Omanukwue skillfully saved the ball. Onwughara Omanukwue made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shola Achebo in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Henry Maga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. THE ELECTRONS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Derby AFC the free kick. In the 38th minute, Henry Maga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute Shola Achebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Onwughara Omanukwue saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dahiru Khumbotso kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Itimi Hananias hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dayo Abonta made a kick off. A collision led to THE ELECTRONS getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Onyeoruru Amupitan hit a great ball. In the 55th minute, Mezie Roro fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Onwughara Omanukwue, passed just outside the right post. Shola Achebo struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Onwughara Omanukwue didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derby AFC. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Shola Achebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Derby AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Shola Achebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Onwughara Omanukwue breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mezie Roro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shola Achebo got free with Onwughara Omanukwue in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mezie Roro in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Onwughara Omanukwue prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Mezie Roro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nweke Ademodi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manga Lartey having to interfere. Onwughara Omanukwue stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mezie Roro's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Onwughara Omanukwue showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mezie Roro, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Onwughara Omanukwue showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mezie Roro in the 91st minute of the match. Mezie Roro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Onwughara Omanukwue read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Chiazagomekpele Aiyetan in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Onwughara Omanukwue, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Derby AFC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
