Derby AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Baldock the free kick. JohnEne Omatsola shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 21 minutes into the match, Baldock's goalkeeper Dauda Adaramoye had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Shola Achebo. Mezie Roro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dauda Adaramoye tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, Derby AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiazagomekpele Aiyetan to maneuver through the defense. Itimi Hananias kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Derby AFC's zone, Isaiah Chilaka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manga Lartey came out of the goal and Isaiah Chilaka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Mezie Roro notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Baldock's Dauda Adaramoye. Dauda Adaramoye was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dauda Adaramoye took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mezie Roro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bassey Fajemirokun's late challenge caught a Derby AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bassey Fajemirokun helped the player get up and apologised. After 44 played minutes Baldock got a freekick which was hit by Bassey Fajemirokun. Shola Achebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dauda Adaramoye having to interfere. Dauda Adaramoye made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mezie Roro in the 48th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isaiah Chilaka made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Baldock's goal looked a bit too open when Mezie Roro came free, but Dauda Adaramoye reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 56 minutes, Shola Achebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derby AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shola Achebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Shola Achebo took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dauda Adaramoye. Dauda Adaramoye dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Shola Achebo struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Dauda Adaramoye didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derby AFC. In the 86th match minute, Derby AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emmanuel Okon Alechenu to maneuver through the defense. Somadina Olowosuko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Shola Achebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Dauda Adaramoye tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Derby AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Baldock for a fine match.
