Nwokezuike Adaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Akubundu Adefulu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Akubundu Adefulu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nwokezuike Adaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 12th minute Nwokezuike Adaga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akubundu Adefulu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Akubundu Adefulu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dahunsi Ughaelu, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Anorigwo Oladele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ositadimma Olaoye's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. With a little luck, Enyimba's Anorigwo Oladele got control of the ball when Chukwuraenye Arumona tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dahunsi Ughaelu in the 20th minute of play forced Lincoln FC's goalkeeper Akubundu Adefulu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nwokezuike Adaga got in the 22nd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Akubundu Adefulu handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 24 minutes into the game, Enyimba's Nwokezuike Adaga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Akubundu Adefulu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 26 minutes into the game, Toto Otiji was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Enyimba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lincoln FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Enyimba's Toto Otiji got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute, Chukwuraenye Arumona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Nwokezuike Adaga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Akubundu Adefulu was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. With a little luck, Enyimba's Anorigwo Oladele got control of the ball when Chukwuraenye Arumona tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Enyimba's zone, Ositadimma Olaoye stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anorigwo Oladele came out of the goal and Ositadimma Olaoye tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Akubundu Adefulu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nwokezuike Adaga in the 46th minute of the match. After 47 minutes, Mudashiru Bamsebi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Enyimba and the Lincoln FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 47th minute, Mudashiru Bamsebi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the game, Ositadimma Olaoye recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Anorigwo Oladele. Ositadimma Olaoye showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nwokezuike Adaga to strike the kick off in the second half. Dahunsi Ughaelu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Akubundu Adefulu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Lincoln FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Ganiyu Agba hit a great ball. Dahunsi Ughaelu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 60 played minutes Enyimba got a freekick which was hit by Mudashiru Bamsebi. Nwokezuike Adaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ositadimma Olaoye in the 70th minute of play forced Enyimba's goalkeeper Anorigwo Oladele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Enyimba's zone, Hussein Emeka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anorigwo Oladele came out of the goal and Hussein Emeka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Enyimba's Nwokezuike Adaga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Akubundu Adefulu. That made the score 3-2 after 80 minutes of play. Dahunsi Ughaelu in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Akubundu Adefulu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Nwokezuike Adaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 99 minutes, Nwokezuike Adaga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Enyimba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nwokezuike Adaga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
