Tasiu Onwuzuruike showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dahunsi Obiamaka, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Raymond Akiti notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Chuks FC's Olalekan Ezeagba. Olalekan Ezeagba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Chuks FC's Olalekan Ezeagba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolphus Enebechi in the 19th minute of play. Raymond Akiti scored 0-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Olalekan Ezeagba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raymond Akiti in the 26th minute of play forced Chuks FC's goalkeeper Olalekan Ezeagba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Ettah Ayoka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chuks FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Margate the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dahunsi Obiamaka got free with Tasiu Onwuzuruike in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ettah Ayoka recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Adolphus Enebechi notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Chuks FC's Olalekan Ezeagba. Olalekan Ezeagba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tasiu Onwuzuruike made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dahunsi Obiamaka in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Margate were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adolphus Enebechi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Olalekan Ezeagba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolphus Enebechi in the 52nd minute of the match. Dahunsi Obiamaka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tasiu Onwuzuruike having to interfere. Olalekan Ezeagba made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raymond Akiti in the 57th minute. Tasiu Onwuzuruike took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ettah Ayoka, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chuks FC's goalkeeper Olalekan Ezeagba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olalekan Ezeagba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolphus Enebechi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dahunsi Obiamaka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tasiu Onwuzuruike made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ifesinachi Musa in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Akabueze Dickson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Chuks FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Margate's performance. The match ended with a win for Margate.
