They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Godson Babayaro fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blue Eagles FC's protests and gave Godson Babayaro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Godson Babayaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chukwuraenye Arumona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Anenechi Badmus was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Lincoln FC's zone, Nwannedimma Abe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Akubundu Adefulu came out of the goal and Nwannedimma Abe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ositadimma Olaoye had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ositadimma Olaoye received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Anenechi Badmus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Godson Babayaro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Akubundu Adefulu, 1-4. The Lincoln FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Blue Eagles FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Blue Eagles FC.
