Ololade Williams charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ololade Williams the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ololade Williams kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Joel Machinam made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Abubakar Onasanya sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ossy Onwuachi was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ossy Onwuachi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joel Machinam was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Chidubem Uchenna's late challenge caught a Trimley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chidubem Uchenna helped the player get up and apologised. Chidubem Uchenna hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After having played for 58 minutes, Abubakar Onasanya managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trimley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abubakar Onasanya was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Machinam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ossy Onwuachi went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. In the 75th minute Abubakar Onasanya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Machinam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ossy Onwuachi in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Machinam saved nibc fc from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Ossy Onwuachi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joel Machinam was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. If Abubakar Onasanya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ossy Onwuachi struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Joel Machinam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trimley. 90 minutes into the match, nibc fc's goal looked a bit too open when Ossy Onwuachi came free, but Joel Machinam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bartholomew Oche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trimley walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
