After a rather tough play, Al-Shabaab's Igwe Olowoyo got a free kick in the 13th minute. A collision led to Blue Eagles FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Nwannedimma Abe hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, Som Dooyum cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Moruf Gbenga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Moruf Gbenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Temitope Bagudo in the 23rd minute of play. Moruf Gbenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Som Dooyum, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Nwannedimma Abe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Moruf Gbenga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Blue Eagles FC's Nwannedimma Abe got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moruf Gbenga came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Blue Eagles FC's Godson Babayaro. But to his dismay, Godson Babayaro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 39th minute, Nwannedimma Abe made a precise shot to the right of Moruf Gbenga. Al-Shabaab's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. 44 minutes into the match, Otunba Ezedinma had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Moruf Gbenga. Al-Shabaab's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otunba Ezedinma was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godson Babayaro to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Blue Eagles FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Temitope Bagudo to maneuver through the defense. Temitope Bagudo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Moruf Gbenga made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godson Babayaro in the 62nd minute of play forced Al-Shabaab's goalkeeper Moruf Gbenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With splendid footwork Godson Babayaro arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-8 by the left pole in the game's 64th minute. Moruf Gbenga was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Som Dooyum showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-9 in the 68 minute of play. In the 70th minute, Temitope Bagudo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Moruf Gbenga. The goal made the score 0-10. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nwannedimma Abe got free with Moruf Gbenga in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 77th minute, Som Dooyum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Al-Shabaab's Moruf Gbenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Al-Shabaab from getting a goal against them. Moruf Gbenga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nwannedimma Abe in the 81st minute. Chiemenam Egbuonu kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Nwannedimma Abe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Moruf Gbenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Temitope Bagudo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Blue Eagles FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-11. Godson Babayaro kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The Al-Shabaab fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Blue Eagles FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
