Knottingley FC's Akubundu Bunu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Knottingley FC from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes into the match, Knottingley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Chuma Etete came free, but Akubundu Bunu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Onoriode Nnorom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chuma Etete in the 26th minute of play forced Knottingley FC's goalkeeper Akubundu Bunu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Chuma Etete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Knottingley FC's Akubundu Bunu got control of the ball when Mohammadu Okozi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Knottingley FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osita Ojibara to maneuver through the defense. Levenshulme City's Isaac Achi couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 35th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Knottingley FC. Mohammadu Okozi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akubundu Bunu having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Onoriode Nnorom was the one to do the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Knottingley FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! In the 60th match minute, Levenshulme City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Friday Bemekun to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Mohammadu Okozi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Akubundu Bunu was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Levenshulme City's supporters rose to their feet, but Chuma Etete was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Akubundu Bunu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 71st minute, Osita Ojibara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Samson Etoh Agbonavbare was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Onoriode Nnorom showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 73 minute of play. Akubundu Bunu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chuma Etete, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After some careless play in the Knottingley FC defense, Mohammadu Okozi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Akubundu Bunu. The Knottingley FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Akubundu Bunu should have stopped the shot. When Mohammadu Okozi came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Levenshulme City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mohammadu Okozi couldn't finish the play. Chuma Etete recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
