Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Lincoln FC's Ositadimma Olaoye started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lincoln FC's Akubundu Adefulu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ossy Onwuachi in the 3rd minute of play. With his leg Ejike Okechukwu managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Lincoln FC's Chukwuraenye Arumona fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ositadimma Olaoye's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ejike Okechukwu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Chukwuraenye Arumona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ejike Okechukwu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ositadimma Olaoye had several of the Trimley's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 24 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ejike Okechukwu as he didn't even see the shot coming. 27 minutes into the match, Trimley's goalkeeper Ejike Okechukwu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chukwuraenye Arumona. In the 31st match minute, Trimley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thaddeus Agbim to maneuver through the defense. Warman Ejem kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Chukwuraenye Arumona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ossy Onwuachi to make the kick off. Ossy Onwuachi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Akubundu Adefulu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ejike Okechukwu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chukwuraenye Arumona in the 54th minute of the match. In the 54th match minute, Trimley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Opah Adebajo to maneuver through the defense. Ganiyu Agba hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Akubundu Adefulu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Somadina Okpongete. Ossy Onwuachi did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Akubundu Adefulu 60 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Ossy Onwuachi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trimley's supporters rose to their feet, but Ossy Onwuachi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Akubundu Adefulu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ositadimma Olaoye struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Ejike Okechukwu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lincoln FC. Abubakar Onasanya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ositadimma Olaoye fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ejike Okechukwu having to interfere. Lincoln FC's Ositadimma Olaoye got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ossy Onwuachi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 82nd minute. Trimley's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 86th minute, Chukwuraenye Arumona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Trimley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Opah Adebajo to maneuver through the defense. Friday Yadudu's late challenge caught a Trimley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Friday Yadudu helped the player get up and apologised. Akubundu Adefulu was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Ossy Onwuachi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ossy Onwuachi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Trimley walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
