An unexpectedly hard shot by Eby Abodunrin in the 14th minute of play forced Falcons FC's goalkeeper Chidinma Udenkwele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chidinma Udenkwele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Festus Owotoki in the 18th minute of play. Chiazago Akinola kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Joseph Alachi hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Falcons FC's Murphy Owonaru got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Falcons FC's Chidinma Udenkwele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Festus Owotoki in the 46th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Festus Owotoki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Chidinma Udenkwele. Falcons FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Festus Owotoki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ikem Iheagwam was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ikem Iheagwam in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chidinma Udenkwele prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Yoruba FC's Ikedinachukwu Ekong got a free kick in the 55th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ikedinachukwu Ekong during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ikedinachukwu Ekong hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. A collision led to Falcons FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Joseph Alachi hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Yoruba FC's Ikem Iheagwam sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chidinma Udenkwele narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nezie Adeegbe was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 83 minutes into the match. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Falcons FC! After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Ikem Iheagwam managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yoruba FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ikem Iheagwam was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chidinma Udenkwele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ikem Iheagwam in the 88th minute of play forced Falcons FC's goalkeeper Chidinma Udenkwele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chidinma Udenkwele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ikem Iheagwam's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. When the final whistle sounded Yoruba FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Falcons FC.
