Spectators: 8157 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 2127, VIP seats: 30) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 13thth minute of the game Awenayeri Ajanaku who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Theorah FC's Iheanacho Omole was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Shoeburynesss's Tang Zhi Hai got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Yege Abhiele in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kabiru Onanuga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Shoeburynesss booed when Theorah FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yege Abhiele didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Otutodilichukwu Daika ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kabiru Onanuga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Iheanacho Omole took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Awenayeri Ajanaku, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tang Zhi Hai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Iheanacho Omole tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iheanacho Omole stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Awenayeri Ajanaku's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute Yege Abhiele shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kabiru Onanuga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Awenayeri Ajanaku in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iheanacho Omole prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tang Zhi Hai came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Iheanacho Omole could save by the left post.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chukwujamuike Onwuzuruike to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Theorah FC defense, Tang Zhi Hai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iheanacho Omole. The Theorah FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iheanacho Omole should have stopped the shot. Iheanacho Omole made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Odetayo Abe in the 58th minute of play. If Tang Zhi Hai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th match minute, Theorah FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Oni Ayodele to maneuver through the defense. Kabiru Onanuga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chukwujamuike Onwuzuruike, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 69 minutes of play, Theorah FC's Yege Abhiele made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kabiru Onanuga was left in no man's land by his defense there! 76 minutes into the match, Tang Zhi Hai notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Theorah FC's Iheanacho Omole. Iheanacho Omole was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Tang Zhi Hai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Awenayeri Ajanaku sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
