After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Murphy Owonaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Falcons FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Murphy Owonaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Aguebor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Juju fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 43 minutes, Falcons FC's Nezie Adeegbe got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Murphy Owonaru was the one to do the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 69 played minutes Juju got a freekick which was hit by Ndu Ajatta. After a defensive mix-up in Juju's zone, Chidubem Adanri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Aguebor came out of the goal and Chidubem Adanri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tochukwu Adegunju hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the game, Olaka Ekeh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Juju's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Falcons FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Juju's Olaka Ekeh got a free kick in the 78th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adeshina Awosupin got free with Chidinma Udenkwele in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th match minute, Juju was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edwin Ogbara to maneuver through the defense.
