The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Akabueze Imagbudu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ebira United Fc getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Akabueze Imagbudu hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Ebira United Fc's Taye Bature got a free kick in the 6th minute. Chiazagomekpele Ige showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nwachukwu Okoduwa in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Kambinachi Oparaji cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Chiazagomekpele Ige was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 12th minute Buch Ugwuh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yemi Odumegwu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chiazagomekpele Ige showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otito Asuzu, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kambinachi Oparaji in the 22nd minute of play forced Ebira United Fc's goalkeeper Chiazagomekpele Ige to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 played minutes Ebira United Fc got a freekick which was hit by Omolola Nwanyinnaya. Jibrin Emenike fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chiazagomekpele Ige having to interfere. Otito Asuzu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Blue stars getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Agbami Adaji hit a great ball. Yemi Odumegwu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Buch Ugwuh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Buch Ugwuh made a kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Ebira United Fc's Buch Ugwuh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yemi Odumegwu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Ajeroh in the 63rd minute of play forced Blue stars's goalkeeper Yemi Odumegwu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kambinachi Oparaji let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 68th minute shot 1-2 at rihgt post. If Nwachukwu Okoduwa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Taye Bature kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Chiazagomekpele Ige made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nwachukwu Okoduwa in the 79th minute. After 80 minutes, Taye Bature mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ebira United Fc and the Blue stars players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes Ebira United Fc got a freekick which was hit by Taye Bature. The supporters of Blue stars booed when Ebira United Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Taye Bature didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Kambinachi Oparaji ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Chiazagomekpele Ige was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. With an all-out effort, Blue stars's Chiazagomekpele Ige threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kambinachi Oparaji, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Buch Ugwuh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Ebira United Fc fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Blue stars were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
