An unexpectedly hard shot by Ayur El Khalej in the 23rd minute of play forced Ben Taib Wydad's goalkeeper Chakir El Azhari to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Abdelkhaliq Molhamam fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ben Taib Wydad's protests and gave Abdelkhaliq Molhamam a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd match minute, Ben Taib Wydad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdelkhaliq Molhamam to maneuver through the defense. Ben Taib Wydad's Tanan Zaki pulled a muscle in his back after 26 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Betis Casablanca getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Idriss Mehdi couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute of the match, Idriss Mehdi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Chokri Regragui saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After the first half Betis Casablanca were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Idriss Mehdi to make the kick off. Ayur El Khalej fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chakir El Azhari having to interfere. Betis Casablanca's supporters rose to their feet, but Afer Abdessadki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chakir El Azhari breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chakir El Azhari showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daoud Jilaidi, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Chokri Regragui made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rouchd Bagui in the 90th minute of play. Idriss Mehdi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 94th match minute, Betis Casablanca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramzi Bouden to maneuver through the defense. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
