Spectators: 6845 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1845, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Timothy Hammond started the match with the kick off. Mick Hopgood was a little too slow when George Murray got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 3rd minute. The score was now 1-0. After some careless play in the Kesgrave FC defense, Joshua Preston kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mick Hopgood. The Kesgrave FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mick Hopgood should have stopped the shot. Mick Hopgood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stevie Theobald , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kesgrave FC's Mick Hopgood proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Kesgrave FC from getting a goal against them. Kesgrave FC's Mick Hopgood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stevie Theobald in the 14th minute of play. Donald Boatman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Spike Roebuck having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Timothy Hammond managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kesgrave FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Timothy Hammond was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Spike Roebuck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Kesgrave FC's Mick Hopgood got control of the ball when Jake Pearch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mick Hopgood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stevie Theobald , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mick Hopgood made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jake Pearch in the 25th minute. A collision led to Kesgrave FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Brian Sawyer hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as George Murray kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mick Hopgood. That made the score 3-0 in the 29 minute of play. In the 36th match minute, Kesgrave FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timothy Hammond to maneuver through the defense. Stevie Theobald scored 4-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mick Hopgood, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kesgrave FC's Mick Hopgood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Murray in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Kesgrave FC booed when Kimpton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Murray didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Stevie Theobald made the kick off in the second half. Mick Hopgood came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Kimpton AFC's Stevie Theobald . But to his dismay, Stevie Theobald quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Spike Roebuck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timothy Hammond in the 59th minute of play. Jerry Pearch charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerry Pearch the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Kesgrave FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Jerry Pearch hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Stevie Theobald left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kimpton AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Mick Hopgood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stevie Theobald in the 68th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Kesgrave FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jake Pearch came free, but Mick Hopgood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Deon Healy came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Kesgrave FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deon Healy couldn't finish the play. Mick Hopgood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stevie Theobald , who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Mick Hopgood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Murray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Justin Peakman during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Justin Peakman kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the game, Timothy Hammond recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Spike Roebuck . Timothy Hammond showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-2. Gary Brighton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kimpton AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Kesgrave FC for a fine match.
