He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deptford reached it. Franz Best showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tod Preston in the 12th minute of the match. Franz Best didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kieran Tully went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Franz Best showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tod Preston , who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Kieran Tully received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Franz Best tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26thth minute of the game Kieran Tully who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GIPSY TEAM's Franz Best was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tod Preston struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Franz Best didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deptford. Garth Edwards made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith Patten in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Deptford's goal looked a bit too open when Keith Patten came free, but Garth Edwards reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tod Preston in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franz Best saved GIPSY TEAM from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Keith Patten was the one to do the kick off. Tod Preston 's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Franz Best skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to GIPSY TEAM getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Andy Moyse hit a great ball. Tod Preston in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Franz Best, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Franz Best made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Tod Preston sent off a good shot on target. After 59 minutes, Andy Moyse mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GIPSY TEAM and the Deptford players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, GIPSY TEAM's Andy Moyse got a free kick in the 60th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tod Preston got free with Franz Best in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th minute, Kenny McParland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jimmy Nicholson came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the GIPSY TEAM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Nicholson couldn't finish the play. Tod Preston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Kieran Tully managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deptford's supporters rose to their feet, but Kieran Tully was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franz Best breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Kieran Tully had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 78th minute of the match Kenny McParland completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kenny McParland a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Deptford getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Kenny McParland hit a great ball. Garth Edwards took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keith Patten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Jimmy Nicholson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tod Preston could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Franz Best made a huge save. Andy Moyse was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 89 played minutes GIPSY TEAM got a freekick which was hit by Andy Moyse. Franz Best made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tod Preston in the 92nd minute. Tod Preston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Franz Best tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deptford played a much better game than GIPSY TEAM and deserved their victory. The GIPSY TEAM players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
