Seating: 1858, VIP seats: 0) Kieran Tully started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute, Jack Townsend hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Deptford's Kenny McParland got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 9th minute, Maurice Beech hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the game, Eddy Carlick recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Garth Edwards . Eddy Carlick showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jacob Clapham stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tod Preston 's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. If Eddy Carlick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tod Preston recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brian Close fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Garth Edwards having to interfere. Maurice Beech charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maurice Beech the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st minute, Maurice Beech hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacob Clapham stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tod Preston 's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute, Kieran Tully made a precise shot to the right of Jacob Clapham . Bedford's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Tod Preston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Clapham having to interfere. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bedford's goalkeeper Jacob Clapham , but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eddy Carlick in the 48th minute of play forced Deptford's goalkeeper Garth Edwards to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Jacob Clapham successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Kieran Tully 's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacob Clapham read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute Brian Close shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Edwards saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Brian Close had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Eddy Carlick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th match minute, Deptford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenny McParland to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Tod Preston left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deptford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The Bedford fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Bedford's Brian Close looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tod Preston got free with Jacob Clapham in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 90 minutes into the game, Kieran Tully recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jacob Clapham .
