Spectators: 6855 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1855, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Reuben Dawson started the match with the kick off. Reuben Dawson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franz Best having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, GIPSY TEAM's goal looked a bit too open when Reuben Dawson came free, but Franz Best reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dave Giugno came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by GIPSY TEAM's Keith Patten. But to his dismay, Keith Patten quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 15th minute, Jimmy Nicholson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GIPSY TEAM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Alexander Rice kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Reuben Dawson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Welford's supporters rose to their feet, but Reuben Dawson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franz Best breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reuben Dawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Andy Moyse fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GIPSY TEAM's protests and gave Andy Moyse a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, GIPSY TEAM's Andy Moyse got a free kick in the 29th minute. Franz Best took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reuben Dawson , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Welford's zone, Jimmy Nicholson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dave Giugno came out of the goal and Jimmy Nicholson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Welford players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. GIPSY TEAM were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Keith Patten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reuben Dawson in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franz Best prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Franz Best showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vance Golding in the 56th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Keith Patten in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dave Giugno saved Welford from getting behind. In the 79th minute Reuben Dawson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franz Best saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Reuben Dawson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Welford fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Welford's Dave Giugno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keith Patten in the 88th minute of play. GIPSY TEAM were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Welford's much stronger midfield.
