Spectators: 8097 (Terracing: 6074, Seating: 1862, VIP seats: 161) Westerham's Alex Lanyon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 6 played minutes Westerham got a freekick which was hit by John Bastow . In the 7th minute, one of Westerham:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Westerham. Loyd Pearch had in the 9thth minute some difficulties stopping Tommy Fish's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Neil Edwards blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Loyd Pearch having to make a save. After a rather tough play, hpcsongi's Martin Hoult got a free kick in the 14th minute. Westerham's Vinnie Cotton couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 15th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for hpcsongi. The Westerham fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Westerham's Joshua Frost looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Westerham's goalkeeper Loyd Pearch , but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Lanyon in the 23rd minute of play forced hpcsongi's goalkeeper Peter Mason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Derek Brownlee left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The hpcsongi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Peter Mason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alex Lanyon's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. When hpcsongi's Neil Edwards in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Westerham's goalie prevented a goal. After some careless play in the hpcsongi defense, Joshua Frost kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Mason. The hpcsongi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Mason should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Neil Edwards was the one to do the kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 54 minutes into the game, when Sammy Lagdon put in a rough tackle. In the 56th minute there was a penalty for hpcsongi. Tommy Fish stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Loyd Pearch . 2-2. Peter Mason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua Frost in the 59th minute of the match. With a little luck, hpcsongi's Peter Mason got control of the ball when Joshua Frost tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joshua Frost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Peter Mason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If John Bastow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 78th match minute, Westerham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Bastow to maneuver through the defense. Neil Edwards recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Loyd Pearch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neil Edwards, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Derek Brownlee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Hoult received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Loyd Pearch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Derek Brownlee managed to get in a good position for a shot. hpcsongi's supporters rose to their feet, but Derek Brownlee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Loyd Pearch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of hpcsongi booed when Westerham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Bastow didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
