Spectators: 8083 (Terracing: 6063, Seating: 1859, VIP seats: 161) Staithes's Harry Crossman started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Derek Brownlee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Seth Willoughby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neil Edwards received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Seth Willoughby came out and tried to block the shot, but Neil Edwards slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. 11 minutes into the match, hpcsongi's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Crossman came free, but Peter Mason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Pierre Daly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Mason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Mason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Crossman in the 22nd minute of play. Neil Edwards sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neil Edwards in the 30th minute of play forced Staithes's goalkeeper Seth Willoughby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dion Ferguson charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dion Ferguson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pierre Daly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Harry Crossman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Neil Edwards to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neil Edwards in the 52nd minute of play forced Staithes's goalkeeper Seth Willoughby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Staithes's Seth Willoughby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Edwards in the 54th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Neil Edwards managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. hpcsongi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Neil Edwards was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Seth Willoughby came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by hpcsongi's Derek Brownlee. But to his dismay, Derek Brownlee quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After a rather tough play, Staithes's Harry Crossman got a free kick in the 65th minute. Martin Hoult's late challenge caught a Staithes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Hoult helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, hpcsongi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Hoult to maneuver through the defense. Derek Brownlee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute Derek Brownlee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seth Willoughby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Derek Brownlee cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Seth Willoughby was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pierre Daly 's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Peter Mason skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Derek Brownlee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seth Willoughby having to interfere. hpcsongi's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
