Des Moxon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 12th minute, Little Comberton's Jimmy Wiley ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jermaine Crouch . Jermaine Crouch yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Willie Basham kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Andy Neville charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andy Neville the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dylon Chilton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Butt having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sol Jobling in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victor Butt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Little Comberton's Des Moxon got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jimmy Wiley succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Jermaine Crouch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimmy Wiley in the 36th minute of play. Jimmy Wiley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Crouch having to interfere. Des Moxon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Sol Jobling who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Victor Butt when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Victor Butt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylon Chilton in the 56th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Oxford United's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Wiley came free, but Jermaine Crouch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Willie Basham sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Victor Butt threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Willie Basham this time. In the 89th minute, Sol Jobling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Little Comberton had won after a very even match.
