In the 46th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony English to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute of the match Barry Shepherd sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steven Campbell skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Wayne Roberts managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo's supporters rose to their feet, but Wayne Roberts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stiff Osborn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Wokingham United's zone, Ashley Doherty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stiff Osborn came out of the goal and Ashley Doherty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ashley Doherty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Walter Hickson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wayne Patten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Steven Campbell made a huge save. Stiff Osborn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wayne Roberts in the 89th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodney Oakes in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steven Campbell saved Flamengo from getting behind. Flamengo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
